Linksys validating identity error
However, my XP machine has ben sitting on.."Validating identity" for ages. possible but strange) it was weird, insecure (no NAT firewalling) and unnecessarily complicated. Yeah I think we need to figure out what's happening really :) Your computer should not do anything to connect – there should not be a "validating identity" screen, no logging in to a network, or anything like that.
Let your router do pppoe and routing, it's really designed for that. It seems that currently, your computer is trying to create a pppoe session (which involves logging in, validating identity etc). Change the wireless settings to create a new wireless ssid that you have not used before.

Yeah, I know – theory is boring and sucky and you just wanna get into the nuts and bolts of it all.
But, as Homer demonstrates below, sometimes we have to defy our genetic programming and actually read the instructions.
Since the session is currently running (and now, a question – by modem or by the Vista machine? Wireless Network Connection (this is the one trying to validate identity) 1392 Connection (net Adapter) – Connected Thats on the XP machine that has just been reformatted. Open a command prompt and type ipconfig /all Copy and paste the result here. Next enable the security type and settings that you are going to use.
I am still getting requests to a) finish it and b) republish it. If you have not seen this before, bear in mind it was first published in 2008.]Hi all Welcome to edition 7 of this seemingly never-ending tribute to the humble annual leave (vacation) form.
I was on the internet using a wireless hookup, then im not on the internet and its telling me its trying to "Validate Identity" I don't know what this means or what it needs to Validate and or who's or whats Identity?
I just replaced an existing computer and when hooking up the new computer, I have connection to the internet but the status for my connection to the network here at home says "validating identity". Later on I got a an error message that says, I quote: "There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network." Can anyone help me figure this out?
I have an urgent issue with the above switch: I have a connection on IP 192.168.1.21, Subnet 255.255.255.0 - this is on the default VLAN1 on the switch.
I need to route this to IP 10.0.3.101, Subnet 255.255.252.0 - which is set up on VLAN2 on the switch. Could someone please advise how I setup this route?
